In order to make urban farming sustainable, farmers generally farm multiple locations that are close together in order to have enough land and to cut down on travel time and costs between locations.
Urban farmers often find themselves working closely with other urban farmers. In fact, two of our member farms even work side by side on one property. This geographic proximity makes collaboration a natural, and beneficial business practice. By sharing resources, knowledge, experience and skills, urban farmers can run their farms more efficiently and productively.
